Permanent Makeup Massachusetts

Greetings and welcome to Permanent Makeup Cape Cod, located in East Sandwich, Massachusetts.  It is my sincere desire to introduce the science and beauty of permanent makeup to all women.  Permanent makeup, also called micropigmentation, can be for the woman with allergies to traditional makeup, an active lifestyle, and for simply the fun and convenience it brings! Pamela McDermott, owner of Permanent Makeup Cape Cod specializes in enhancing the natural beauty of the eyes - specifically the art of permanent eyebrows and eyeliner.

This ancient art technique is medically proven and specifically designed to be completely safe.  It is applied to enhance your natural appearance so that you can always look your best.  The application of micropigmentation using the SofTap® method allows for the combination of artistic ability, the science of color theory, understanding scale and proportion, and overall technical skill.

All eye procedures include two visits:  first to begin the foundation of pigment placement, and second, for a follow-up for the fine tuning of the procedure.  This follow-up appointment, about 4-6 weeks later, is to see how your skin has healed and if there is any further work that needs to be done.  Follow-up appointments are included in the initial price.

With extensive training in wellness, skin care, and permanent cosmetics, I am able to draw on these resources of 15 years of practical experience which lends an artful and skillful eye to the field of permanent makeup.  Having former teacher training and always craving the desire to learn more, we can discuss wellness in relation to anti-aging, because the healthier your skin is, the better your results will be.

Because the SofTap® method is a manual application, there is less trauma to the skin, healing is quick, and the end results are soft and natural looking.  Noone will suspect it’s permanent makeup!  Choosing and placing your trust in your permanent makeup specialist is extremely important.  I am always available to answer all questions you may have.

Extensive training and experience in sanitation and sterilization standards ensure a client’s safety.  The SofTap® method uses equipment which prevents any cross contamination, safe pigments, anesthetics for pain control, and single use disposable tools.

In Massachusetts, tattooing is governed by the Department of Public Health.  The primary focus is health and safety regulations and controls.  Each individual town holds jurisdiction over allowing tattooing and cosmetic tattooing.  Being a licensed and registered electrologist in Massachusetts, I hold myself accountable to follow strict OSHA standards.  I have chosen to work in a private space so that I may offer the safety and comfort clients are looking for.

**PLEASE NOTE - There are some questions and misinformation about the safety of organic versus non-organic pigments.  This seems to stem from the iron oxide typically found in non-organic pigments. To sum it up and clear any confusion about it, Ophthamologist, Charles S. Zwerling, MD, who coined the term micropigmentation, (the process of implanting permanent makeup), and is the Chairman of the non-profit American Academy of Micropigmentation, the AAM, in Goldsboro, N.C. states that pigments, like iron oxide, rarely cause allergic reations.

The AAM states "Iron oxides and titanium dioxide are the least likely to cause problems.  Some synthetic organic pigments are okay but make sure there has never been an allergic reaction.  If a technician states they use 'vegetable-based' pigments or dyes that is a red flag because there is no such thing used for coloring the face.  Note: You can have an MRI safely after permanent makeup."
